Millionaires Record First Victory in Last Three Seconds of Game
The Millionaires faced the rival Loyalsock Lancers at Lycoming College gymnasium on Saturday night. Still trying to put the pieces together after losing many experienced athletes last year, the boys fell to the Lancers after playing them tough all game. "It was disappointing," said a member of Taylor's Army. "I hope they win soon."
Fortunately, nobody had to wait long for a win as the boys defeated Holidaysburg on Tuesday night. In the final three seconds of the game, Cody Engel attempted a shot to win the game. He was fouled and went to the line. After making his first shot and tying the game, the whole gym knew that the game rested on his shoulders. The student section erupted when he sank his second foul shot. Holidaysburg got the ball back and hustled down the court looking for a miracle, but they came up short; and after beginning the year with an eight game losing streak, the Millionaires relished the win.
