First Years and Fast Times for the Cross Country Team
The Cross Country season officially ended last week in Hershey with the girls competing at the state meet. Though they didn't meet their goal in Hershey, they have much to be proud of on the season. Like head coach Steppe said, "These kids worked hard all season!"
By the end of October, the girls had secured a trip to the district meet and traveled to Bloomsburg University to compete. Sara Wirth had a remarkable run and placed first in the competition. First-year runner Ann Cromley placed second in the meet, falling to WIrth by a mere three seconds. While still celebrating their amazing finishes, first-year head coach Jeremy Steppe announced to the team that the girls had placed first overal and would travel as a team to Hershey for the state meet. Only the first place team and the top five other runners from the district meets are invited to the state competition!
In the meet against , the boys and girls teams combined for an unprecedented twenty best personal records. There is no account of such a record anywhere in our school's history!
