Spirit Week !!!!! : )

This year again SGA organized our annual spirit week to excite the students about the Homecoming game.

Starting with Monday, all students who wanted to participate in spirit week were asked to wear college t-shirts of sweatshirts.

As you passed down the hallways you could see a variety of college t-shirts and sweatershirts including Penn State, Clemson, and Pitt.

On Tuesday, students were encouraged to dress up as super heroes. Many people participated by dressing up as their favorite hero, such as Buzz Lightyear, The Ninja Turtles, Wonder Woman, The Hulk, Batman, Superman, Michael Jackson, and even President Obama .

Decades day was a favorite of the students. Big hair, shorts and leggings, and overdone makeup made the eighties came alive. Wednesday’s events were not only limited to the eighties; many other decades were brought back to the hallways of our school.

Mix and match day was very diverse. Students dressed in a variety of styles, seasons, colors and patterns. They didn’t hold back on their creativity for this day. “You know, I loved Spirit Week this year, and I am really sad this is my last one,” said a senior participant.<

Spirit Week drew to a close on Friday with Cherry and White Day. Most all of the student body supported their team by wearing school colors to show their pride.

One of the things I really loved about spirit week was expressing you’re creativity and freedom. You were free to use which ever colors you wanted and to match them however you wanted, “you know…I love spirit week and I am really sad this is my last one…” says one of the seniors.

This is what one of our exchange students had to say about Spirit Week: "In the beginning I had no clue what the Spirit week was about and why they have a spirit week , because back home there is nothing even similar. But personally, I think this is awesome and so much fun. I think I might propose this idea to my school when I go back home…”

”It is crazy”, was the only comment a freshman gave us.

All in all we can proudly say spirit week was a success. Who’s looking forward for the next Spirit Week??
