Skills USA in It's Second Year

Well into its second year in the high school, the Skills USA club is making a name for itself.  This nationally recognized club serves teachers, high school students and college students.  The goal of the club is to help students prepare for careers in the trade and technical fields.  While learning skills that will help them in their future education and careers, students ultimately spend the year preparing for a national convention.  This year the convention will be held in Kansas City.  In 2009, there were more than 5,400 hundred contestants at this national event.  The judges at this event work in the trade and technical fields, and look to reward students for their excellence.  Last year, Williamsport sent a student to this national convention who placed fifth overall.  This year, the group has already begun raising money for the convention in Kansas City.
