Millionaires Clinch Winning Season

With the Millionaire's 39-6 victory over Hollidaysburg on Friday, the boys clinched a winning season.  This is the first winning season for the Millionaires since 2002!  Now the team is focused on securing a playoff position.  A win against Tunkhannock on Friday will clinch a postseason spot in either the district or state playoffs.  "We are hoping for a spot in the state playoffs," said senior Drae Lewis.  "A big win on Friday will help our chances.  Another loss for Hazleton will help, too."

After losing their last two games, the team made a statement against Hollidaysburg.  The boys put on a show for their last home game and for all the special guests at senior night. Because it was senior night, Coach Gravish made sure every senior saw playing time. Gage Shumbat had his first touchdown in Friday's game, a 40 yard run in the fourth quarter. Like they did for Shumbat, the offensive line dominated all night giving Keiser time to throw and assisting Lewis with his career-high 250 yards rushing. Keiser connected with Jared Fagnano for two touchdown passes and Lewis had three touchdowns on the evening. Similarly to the offensive line, the defense showed up to play Friday night as well. Hollidaysburg came into the game 4-5, but the Millionaire defense shut them down. They held the Golden Tigers to just 148 rushing yards, and Fagnano and Matt Lewis both had an interception.
